The first drawing had no latch
The first drawing did not show the requested latch. I clarified the requirement and selected a handle from the available options.

My project involved repeated drawing errors, conflicting delivery and production updates, missed follow-ups, unanswered requests for a basic timeline, and an unexpected $840 lock charge after I paid a $578.30 deposit.

Before paying, I made the lock a clear requirement, not an afterthought. Crystalia’s written response did not tell me that locking hardware would substantially increase the quote. Instead, it said locking functionality was available and that I would select the handle later with my project manager.
The difference was especially frustrating because Crystalia did provide pricing before the deposit when I asked about frosted glass. But when I said the latch or lock was a firm requirement, the response moved past pricing and told me I would choose a handle later. The additional cost was not identified until much later in the project.

My understanding was that the later handle selection was part of completing the door we had already discussed. I did not expect the required locking functionality to become a separate $840 change after the deposit and drawing process.
The first drawing did not show the requested latch. I clarified the requirement and selected a handle from the available options.

Even after that clarification, the second drawing again omitted the latch. A third drawing finally showed the correct hardware, and I signed it.

After I signed the corrected drawing, I heard nothing for about a week. When I followed up, I was told I should have received a payment request, but I had not received one.

I had asked about scheduling the installation. Instead of receiving an installation timeline, I was told the product was expected to be delivered within the coming week.

My next follow-up went unanswered. I eventually called and spoke with another representative, who told me production had not started because I still needed to pay an invoice. That conflicted with the earlier statement that delivery was expected weeks before.

Shortly afterward, I received another request to sign a drawing. I replied that I had already signed the corrected drawing and did not receive an explanation.

The invoice was eventually sent. Before paying it, I asked for a rough production and installation timeline because communication and scheduling had already been a recurring issue. I did not receive a response.

When it was finally time to complete the handle selection, the locking hardware appeared as an additional $840 charge. My original estimate was $3,735. The revised estimate was $4,643.93. I had not agreed to that change order.
